This morning Martin was talking in the Cherrytree Chat about an open letter sent to them by Melanie, the owner of Tokio Hotel International. The letter dealt with the amount of information the label has been giving out about the band and their personal lives. As expected, the response was negative and fans are saying Martin gave the impression that fans who don’t want to hear their constant tidbits about the boys weren’t real fans.
The response from the fandom has been very negative, and Martin’s comments have prompted a new fanaction for everyone following Cherrytree Records (@cherrytreerec) on Twitter to unfollow them. Dean, a Cherrytree employee, was talking in the chat about Martin’s comments. You can read what he said below.
I think were all becoming annoyed by the constant comments about the boys and their lives from Cherrytree, and want it to stop. I think these comments are really going hurt Cherrytree, their reputation among fans, and possibly even the band.
